Our Christmas event is almost upon us, and for the Menter Aberystwyth team, it’s the last event of the year. We’ll get a couple of weeks off before it all starts again for a busy 2020 season!

So, if you are joining us for our Christmas event, what can you expect? We have a very busy day on November 30th, with a food and craft market, Santa’s Grotto, entertainment, donkey rides, lantern parade and of course – switching the Christmas tree lights on.

The Market:

Our food and drink market will be open from 12pm to 7pm on Baker Street (where we’ll also have our entertainment stage). We have an amazing range of stall holders attending:

Santa’s Grotto

Santa will be with us from 2.30pm to 5.00pm, and then from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Santa is usually very popular, so we will be using a “raffle ticket” system so you won’t have to queue for lengthy periods of time. Mother Christmas will also be joining us near the grotto to provide children with some crafts!

Entertainment

We’ll be running entertainment during the day, from 2.30pm onwards. We have the following amazing acts joining us:

  • The Rock Project
  • Cor Cyd
  • Ysgol Gymraeg Choir
  • Tenovus Choir
  • St Michael’s Choir
  • Ysgol Penglais band
  • Ysgol St Padarn

  • Academi Gerdd y Lli
  • Duo from Ysgol Penglais

With thanks to our sponsors

As you know, Menter Aberystwyth is a funded organisation, and without our sponsors and help this event would not be possible. First a huge thanks to our core sponsors, who help fund us through the year: Aberystwyth Town Council and Aberystwyth University. We’d also like to thank the following sponsors for making this event happen:

  • Rotary Aberystwyth
  • Tesco Express
  • St John’s Ambulance
  • Tescos
  • Aberystwyth Farmers Market
  • Newmans Garden Centre
  • The Well
  • Advancing Aberystwyth
  • Spellbound
  • Aberystwyth Arts Centre
  • St Michael’s Aberystwyth
  • Dave Mansell

And of course to all of the volunteers who help during the day – with the stage, set up, road marshalls and more.
