We’re so pleased to annouce that the Aber First Awards WILL return for 2020. We opened the applications in March before lockdown had been annouced, and we carried on with these over the summer while we were decided what we could, and couldn’t do.
After a lot of thought, and watching a lot of the annoucements and updates from the Welsh Government, we’ve decided to move the awards online. We really didn’t want to miss the chance to celebrate the amazing businesses, organisations and individuals in the Aberystwyth area, so cancelling the event would have been a very hard decision to make!
As soon as we’d decided that, our judges got together and did their work – decided on the shortlists and finalists across our 10 categories. You can see the full list by clicking here.
The awards ceremony will be a virtual event on the 19th of November 2020, from the Aberystwyth Arts Centre and with the amazing team at Haka Entertainment helping us too! We’re super excited for the event, and can’t wait to see who wins each of the categories, and to hopefully spread some positivity about our amazing area.
