Prosiect ABER is a groundbreaking initiative resulting from a collaboration between Aberystwyth Town Council, Menter Aberystwyth, and Aberystwyth Business Club. Our shared mission is to revitalise and enhance Aberystwyth town centre, fostering a sense of community pride and creating a lively, inclusive space for residents and visitors.

Town Partnerships Administrator
Town Partnerships Administrator
£28,371 (LC2 SCP 20) pro rata
Part time – 30 hours
Are you passionate about community engagement and driving positive change in Aberystwyth? Join us as a Town Partnerships Administrator and play a vital role in coordinating the Prosiect ABER project, revitalizing our beloved town and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders.
About Prosiect ABER
Prosiect ABER is an exciting initiative resulting from a collaborative partnership between Aberystwyth Town Council, Menter Aberystwyth, and Aberystwyth Business Club. Our joint mission is to improve and revitalize Aberystwyth town center, restoring a sense of pride and creating a vibrant, welcoming community space for all.
Initial projects already funded include visitor information boards, town app and website, business network events, town markets, and partnership developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver town projects in alignment with Prosiect ABER’s objectives
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and government entities
- Seek and source funding opportunities, and lead on grant proposals and submission
- Serve as a central point of contact, fostering collaboration and communication among stakeholders
- Act as the champion for digital/smart technology initiatives in Aberystwyth
- Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and events to encourage engagement and knowledge sharing
- Manage project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed and involved
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling, minute-taking, and record-keeping
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven experience in project coordination and administration, ensuring timely delivery of objectives
- Proficiency in using office productivity tools and platforms for effective communication and documentation
- A passion for community engagement and a commitment to driving positive change
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in sourcing funding opportunities and developing grant bids
- Knowledge of local government structures and community development principles
- Experience in partnership management and collaboration within a multi-stakeholder environment
- Welsh language proficiency, enabling effective communication with a Welsh-speaking audience

Town Rejuvenation Officer
Town Rejuvenation Officer
Annual salary: £24,054 (LC1 SCP 11) Pro Rata
Part time – 30 hours
Are you driven by a vision of revitalizing urban spaces and fostering community pride? Join us as a Town Rejuvenation Officer and play an instrumental role in the transformation of Aberystwyth town centre as part of the Prosiect ABER initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and develop projects for the revitalisation of Aberystwyth town centre, including public spaces, streetscapes, and buildings.
- Maintain good relations with local businesses, community groups, and local government to align rejuvenation efforts with the broader objectives of Prosiect ABER.
- Oversee the planning and execution of public space improvements, including landscaping and amenities.
- Take advantage of opportunities to engage with the community to gather input, in order to ensure that rejuvenation efforts reflect the needs and aspirations of residents.
- Monitor and report on the progress of projects.
- Advocate for sustainable practices and green initiatives in town revitalisation efforts.
- Supervise contractors.
- Assist and oversee practical maintenance services to include grounds maintenance (parks, playgrounds, and allotments), street cleaning, landscaping, tree works, street furniture and street market support.
Essential Skills:
- Strong work planning and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically in developing solutions for urban revitalization.
- Commitment to sustainable development.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Practical experience and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in working with local government and understanding of regulations.
- Proficiency in IT – Microsoft Office.
- Welsh language proficiency, enabling effective communication with a Welsh-speaking audience.
Employment and Line Management
The post will be based within Aberystwyth Town Council offices at 11 Baker Street SY23 2BJ and day to day management will be provided by the Town Council’s Facilities and Assets Manager. The Town Council will provide progress reports to the Town Partnership.
